Mission: Possible – The Perfect Lamb. A Debt Fully Paid.

Key Scriptures: (Hebrews 10:10, 1 Peter 1:18–19, or Isaiah 53)

Mission Possible

Welcome!

This is part two of our journey through the teaching series entitled Mission: Possible where we’re highlighting what Jesus accomplished that was humanly impossible, but fully possible with God. His mission wasn’t just powerful. It was holy. It was complete. And it is still relevant today.

It changed everything.

Let’s talk about debt for a moment.

Think about your personal circle, how many people do you know who are completely debt free? I mean totally debt free: no mortgage, no car note, no student loans, no medical bills, no credit cards, no Afterpay, Klarna, PayPal, or personal loans. Every single balance paid in full. Most of us might have the same answer, not many.

And if you’ve spent time living on Adulthood Avenue, you already know what debt feels like. Whether it’s a car note, a mortgage, student loans, or even a phone bill, you’ve likely experienced what it means to make a payment plan an agreement to pay what you owe in smaller amounts over time. It helps you manage the weight, but it doesn’t erase the debt.

Those monthly statements hit like clockwork. And if you’ve ever used Afterpay, they come every two weeks. (And don’t ask me how I know that...)

But what happens when you miss several payments? The interest piles up. Eventually, someone comes calling.

Now shift with me for a second…

What if sin sent you a bill every month?

What if every lie, little lie, white lie, exaggerated truth, every selfish moment, every failure to live up to God’s standard showed up like a bill… due in full, with no option for partial payments?

Spoiler alert: it does.

For it is written:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 6:23

Sin carries a cost. And that cost demands payment.

But here’s the good news! Where the world offers payment plans, God offered a Person. Jesus didn’t come to help us manage the debt of sin. He came to cancel it. He paid it off completely.

That’s what we’re leaning into today in this Mission: Possible The Perfect Lamb. A Debt Fully Paid. Jesus did what we could never do. He fulfilled the law. He met the requirement. He satisfied the debt. And He did it in full.

The debt of sin wasn’t just high, it was impossible. But Jesus, the Perfect Lamb, stepped in and covered every charge with His blood. That’s the mission. That’s the miracle. That’s why the cross still matters today.

So today, let’s partake in our daily bread, the Word of God.

I invite you into this moment of learning with an open heart, ready to grow deeper in our understanding of the blood. And I challenge you to put an expectation on this message.

For it is written: “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” Psalm 119:18

Let’s pause and invite the Holy Spirit into this moment. Let’s raise our level of understanding.

Let’s grow, friends.

My prayer is that this doesn’t just become head knowledge, something we know, but that it becomes something we live.

For it is written:

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James 1:22

Pray about what you learn. Sit with it. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to steward the truth you’re about to receive.

For it is written: “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.” John 16:13

Here’s the foundation: blood is covenant.

For it is written: “In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Hebrews 9:22

Without the price of blood, we could not and would not have a personal relationship with Christ. The Old Testament was proof that we needed the blood of a perfect Lamb.

For it is written: “It is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.” Leviticus 17:11

And praise God, we have one.

“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29

So today, as we take a closer look at The Perfect Lamb. A Debt Fully Paid, let us remember this:

The blood still works. The cross still matters. And the mission of Christ to redeem, to restore, to reconcile is just as powerful today as it was then.

Let’s lean in and let the Holy Spirit show us how to apply this truth to our everyday walk.

The Requirement of a Spotless Sacrifice

(Old Covenant)

Before Jesus, there was the law. And under the law, sacrifice wasn’t optional, it was required. But not just any sacrifice would do. It had to be spotless.

Leviticus 22:20 says: “Do not bring anything with a defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf.”

God wasn’t being harsh. He was being holy. He was showing His people and us that sin is costly. That anything offered in exchange for guilt must meet His standard, not ours.

This reveals something important about the character of God: He doesn’t do halfway. He is Jehovah Tsidkenu the Lord our Righteousness. He doesn’t bend the standard to accommodate us He became the standard to redeem us.

And that should make us pause.

How often do we give God half of the best? Half of our hearts? Half of our time? Oh God, forgive us. This is not about condemnation it’s about conviction. He is holy, friend. And when we approach Him, we must remember that.

The Old Testament helps us see God from a fresh perspective. He wasn't setting us up for failure He was revealing our need. He knew we could never uphold the law on our own, so He wrapped Himself in flesh through His Son. That’s why Jesus is perfect.

To be spotless meant:

  • No blemish

  • No defect

  • No disease

  • No weakness

  • No damage, visible or hidden

Only a sacrifice in perfect condition could be brought before God. Why? Because it stood in the place of the guilty. It was symbolic but serious. It pointed to a deeper truth: only perfection can satisfy holiness.

This is where Jesus steps in.

He didn’t just meet the standard. He embodied it. He wasn’t just good. He was holy. He wasn’t just moral. He was sinless.

For it is written: “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” 1 Peter 2:22

Jesus became the only acceptable offering. He was the Lamb without blemish or defect. He was the fulfillment of the requirement. The sacrifice that satisfied God's justice and displayed His mercy.

And because He stood in our place, His righteousness now covers us.

This is where it gets personal.

When God looks at you He sees Jesus. Not your sin. Not your past. Not your failures.

He sees the blood of the Perfect Lamb.

This should shift how we walk with Christ.

We don’t strive to earn love we rest in it. We don’t wear shame we wear righteousness. Not our own, but His.

This is why your identity must be rooted in Him. Because without Him, we’re trying to be spotless with stained hands. But in Him, we are fully accepted.

For it is written: “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

You are not trying to become clean you have been made clean.

So when you worship, worship as one who’s already covered.

When you fall, rise as one who’s already forgiven

And when you walk, walk as one whose identity is not tied to failure, but sealed in Christ.

A Debt Fully Paid

So when we say, “I’m applying the blood of Jesus,” what we’re really saying is: “Aye, look, I’ve got the receipt.” We’re saying the debt has been paid. In full.

We’re also saying we don’t have to go to a high priest like they did under the Old Covenant. We don’t have to cut up an animal, sprinkle its blood on the sides of the altar seven times, or perform rituals every time we fall short.

Can you imagine having to do that every time you messed up in a 24-hour period?

Imagine walking out to your farm and trying to find a spotless animal every single time you said something sideways, thought something wrong, or acted out of character.

Whew Lord, I don’t think I’d have enough animals.

And back then? They couldn’t take shortcuts either. There were specific instructions. Atonement had to be made exactly the way God commanded. This was for sins known and unknown things they did on purpose and things they didn’t even realize were wrong.

The blood carried the weight of forgiveness. It was never casual.

Now fast forward. Jesus comes. And His blood spotless, sinless, willingly shed fulfilled what no animal ever could.

For it is written: “But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.” Hebrews 10:12

Y’all, the blood of Jesus carries weight. It carries promises. It means we don’t have to live in a cycle of rituals and offerings.

But here’s the thing: The enemy still wants to keep us in a mindset that minimizes sin.

He’ll whisper, “Oh, that wasn’t that bad,” or, “At least you’re not doing what they’re doing.”

But no, friend, sin is sin. And sin still requires blood.

That’s why we have to stop treating the blood of Jesus like it’s common. It’s not just a phrase.

It’s not a plan-B.

It’s the receipt that declares: PAID IN FULL.

Pull the Receipt:

The Blood Still Speaks

If the blood is the receipt… how are you using it?

When the enemy tries to accuse you of who you used to be ...do you pull it out?

When shame creeps in whispering, “you’ll never be enough”...do you hold it up?

When thought says, “God won’t forgive you this time" ...do you speak what’s already been settled?

The blood of Jesus doesn’t expire.

It’s not out of stock. It’s not a “one-time-use only” sacrifice. It is eternal. And it still speaks.

For it is written:

“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” Revelation 12:11

That’s how you pull the receipt.

You stand firm in what’s already been paid for. You remind hell that your debt isn’t pending, it was nailed to the cross. You don’t fight for forgiveness. You fight from it.

So the next time the enemy shows up trying to reopen a closed account, pull the receipt:

The blood covers that. The blood paid for that. The blood still speaks. (Hebrews 12:24)

Here’s what the blood says:

  • The Blood Saves

“In him we have redemption through his blood…” (Ephesians 1:7)

    You are redeemed. Forgiven.

Justified. “Justified by his blood…” (Romans 5:9)

  • The Blood Heals

"By his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)

His blood didn’t just patch you up, it made you whole.

“By his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

  • The Blood Delivers

“He rescued us from the dominion of darkness…” (Colossians 1:13–14)

"You’ve been moved from bondage to freedom.

…free those held in slavery by fear…” (Hebrews 2:14–15)

  • The Blood Speaks

“The sprinkled blood that speaks a better word…” (Hebrews 12:24)

    Not vengeance. Mercy.

    Not guilt. Grace.

    Not judgment. Justification.

And when your voice agrees with His blood, there’s power.

Apply It Daily

Don’t leave the blood on the shelf of your theology. Apply it like the Israelites did, over your home, over your mind, over everything that matters.

For it is written: “When I see the blood, I will pass over you…” (Exodus 12:13)

Cover yourself in it.

Walk in it.

Let it purify and protect you.

“The blood of Jesus… purifies us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)

Speak it. Live it. Trust it.

The blood is your receipt. Use it.

Call to Action:

Think on These Things

Let’s walk in the authority that’s been imparted to us. Let’s fix our minds on Him and let the thought of His blood elevate our worship.

Y’all, when I think of the blood, sometimes my head just bows. Jesus… You did that for me. That awareness shifts something in me.

I know sometimes it feels hard to pray. People have shared with me that reading the Bible feels confusing or overwhelming. But hear me all it takes is one word from God to change everything.

He wants to reveal Himself to you in a new way. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been saved 10 seconds, 10 minutes, 10 months, or 10 years there is always more.

There is always another level. He literally has secrets He wants to share with you personally. But we have to seek Him.

So here’s your challenge this week: Think about the blood.

When you miss the mark during your day, picture this  You’re headed to your backyard to find a spotless animal. You’re taking it to the high priest. You’re confessing your sins. He’s sprinkling the blood on your behalf. And Lord, don’t fall short on the way there and have to go back and get another animal...

It’s just a mental picture, friend but it helps us feel the weight. Sin has a cost. But your Father, our Father, loved us enough to pay it.

So pause. Allow the Holy Spirit lead you into prayer with that thought.

A heart of gratitude is a song.

Sing it in your prayers. Let that posture draw you to His Word.

And before you know it, you’ll be reading it with clarity and receiving fresh revelation.

Well Zee, how do I know? Because He did it for me.

And He’ll do it for you, too.

Prayer:

Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Jesus.

If I had 10,000 tongues, it still wouldn’t be enough.

I worship Your holy name. We worship Your holy name.

Lord God, thank You for not leaving us in a sinful state. Thank You for leaving Your throne, wrapping Yourself in flesh through Your Son, and having me on Your mind before I ever knew who You were, You thought of me.

Thank You for Your blood that speaks on my behalf. Thank You for being a God who provides instruction not to condemn us, but to shape us. To make us more like You, so when You see us, You see Yourself.

Thank You for the blood. Thank You for showing me how to apply it how to surrender my will and place it under what still covers, what purifies, and what transforms.

Forgive me, Lord, for every time I’ve taken the blood for granted or treated it like a common thing. Forgive me for using it casually, without reverence.

Thank You for the shedding of blood.

Thank You for Your Son.

Thank You that He was blameless.

Thank You that I have access to You not through rituals, not through animal sacrifice, but through the finished work of Jesus. Thank You that I can come boldly. Thank You for grace. Thank You for covering.

Jesus, I want to live every day under the covering of Your blood. Not just on Sundays. Not just in crisis. But all the days of my life.

In Jesus’ name amen!

There's more. Come back next week.
