When Freedom Becomes More Than a Word

The “Yes”

Ok, friend—testimony time. 😅You ever just sit back and realize God really did something in you? I recently had one of those moments.

Our testimonies matter, friend. When someone shares what God has done in their life, something shifts. It builds faith. It unlocks boldness and reflects the transformative power of God to a watching world.

So I’m sharing mine—not to spotlight me, but to shine light on Him. Because if anything in my story sparks a deeper hunger for Jesus in you, then sign me up, Lord.

Let’s rewind for a second…

For a long time, the fear of public speaking had me in a chokehold. Like—real fear.

I’m talking full-blown anxiety—racing heart, trembling hands, thoughts spinning faster than I could catch them.

In college, a doctor diagnosed me with social anxiety, and I owned it. I called it “my anxiety.” I claimed it like it was part of my personality.

But here’s the thing:

“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

2 Timothy 1:7

Let me give you some context about this verse. Paul wrote this to Timothy, a young leader in the early church, who was facing intense pressure and persecution. Paul wanted Timothy to be reminded: Fear is not from God. He was encouraging him to keep going—boldly.

And I want to remind you of that same truth today. It still stands.

Yes, anxiety is real. The Bible doesn’t dismiss it.

In fact, it says:

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” —1 Peter 5:7

But what I’ve learned is this: we have authority over it. We don’t have to live bound by what Jesus already conquered.

For me, the root of my anxiety was fear.

  • Fear of saying the wrong thing.

  • Fear of being misunderstood.

  • Fear of not being “smart enough.”

But you know what I didn’t realize? Fear is sneaky. It can dress up as caution, humility—even wisdom.

I had to confront the fact that I wasn’t just shy—I was afraid. And the Holy Spirit lovingly whispered to my heart:

“In Me, you have nothing to fear.”

I am forever grateful for the fresh encounters with God that remind me: I am safe in His arms.

It was in my quiet time that He began to build me for what was ahead. It was there—just me and God—that I told Him, “I trust You.”

Several years ago, I said yes to no longer living bound by fear. But it wasn’t until a few years ago that I faced my first real test.

And that test made me choose: Do I run from the moment… or walk in freedom?

Now I’m walking in a new level of freedom—not just freedom as a concept, but freedom I’ve lived. Freedom I’ve felt from the inside out.

So if that’s you—if public speaking makes you freeze up, if fear makes you feel unworthy or disqualified—please hear me: You are not alone. God is with you. He will be your mouthpiece.

I want to share a verse with you. But don’t just read it—personalize it:

“You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now, if you will listen to Me and keep My covenant, you will be My own special treasure… a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” —Exodus 19:4–6

Now, you might be wondering, what does this have to do with overcoming fear? Honestly? Everything.

God was speaking to the Israelites after they had spent their entire lives in bondage under Pharaoh. They were just beginning their journey into the unknown—free, but unsure.

And how does God begin this new chapter with them? He reminds them of what He’s already done.

“You have seen what I did…”

One key to moving forward in faith is remembering what God has already brought you through. It realigns your perspective.

Then He says, “I carried you." That means they didn’t get there by their own strength—and neither did we. It wasn’t their qualifications or perfection. It was the love of the Father that carried them. And He is doing the same for us—right now.

And once He carried them, He gave them an instruction: listen. Not act. Not hustle. Listen.

Friend, listening positions us to obey. Obedience strengthens our foundation. And the byproduct? We walk as His special treasure. His kingdom of priests. A holy people.

When Freedom Shows Up in Real Life

Recently, for the first time, I stood before God’s people and delivered a message in a formal setting.

Not a play. Not a pageant. Not a motivational speech. Not a tryout. But a pulpit moment—flat-footed, and totally dependent on the Holy Spirit.

And the setting? A 24-hour prayer gathering.

I had never been to one before. But y’all—we had a TIME. There was something about being in a space designed for uninterrupted communion with God. No distractions. No rush. Just His presence.

It changed me.

There’s a difference between saying “Prayer changes things” and being changed by prayer.

This wasn’t about asking for God’s hand. This was about sitting in His presence. And I’m forever grateful to my friend who obeyed God and created that space. Because her yes made room for mine.

That night, the Lord gave me a message to release: Deliverance and Freedom. I will share it with you.

Deliverance and Freedom: A Word for the Body

Deliverance isn’t random. It’s not for the “super spiritual." It’s not a last resort. It’s our bread.

Jesus said it Himself.

In Mark 7, a Gentile woman came to Him, asking for her daughter to be delivered. She didn’t “qualify” by religious standards. But she believed.

And Jesus said:

“Let the children be filled first, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” —Mark 7:27

Deliverance is the children’s bread. That means it belongs to those in the family. If you belong to Jesus—it’s yours.

So let’s break it down together. Because freedom is a promise.

1. God Hears You

“God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant.” —Exodus 2:24

That word remembered doesn’t mean He forgot. It means He was about to act.

Maybe your prayers feel stuck. Maybe your tears feel wasted. But friend—heaven has heard you.

Deliverance starts with: God hears.

2. Deliverance Requires Confrontation

Freedom isn’t passive.

Moses didn’t approach Pharaoh with suggestions. He came with authority.

“Let My people go.” —Exodus 5:1

You don’t negotiate with what God has commanded to leave.

Declare this: "I refuse to be passive about my freedom!”

3. The Enemy Will Try to Compromise

This part shook me.

Pharaoh didn’t just say “no.” He tried to negotiate.

  • “Worship here in Egypt.” → Translation: Look spiritual but stay bound.

  • “Only the men can go.” → You get free but leave your kids in bondage.

  • “Leave your herds.” → Keep your praise, but give up your provision.

Sound familiar?

The enemy doesn’t mind almost free—as long as you’re not fully free.

But we’re not settling. Deliverance is our bread. We want it all back.

4. Freedom Is For Worship

God didn’t just set His people free so they could post, “Out of Egypt 😎.” He delivered them so they could worship.

“Let My people go, so they may worship Me.” —Exodus 7:16, 8:1, 9:1

Romans 12:1 tells us real worship is offering our whole lives as a living sacrifice.

Freedom has a purpose. And that purpose is devotion.

5. The Blood Still Speaks

“When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” —Exodus 12:13

It wasn’t their perfection. It wasn’t how loud they cried. It was the blood.

Today, that blood is Jesus. And it still speaks: Healing. Peace. Protection. Paid in full.

Say it with me: “I am covered. I am clean. The blood still speaks for me.”

6. Don’t Go Back

“The Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.” —Exodus 14:13

Freedom requires a decision. You can’t go back to what God already drowned.

Say it like you mean it:

“I’m not checking on what God cut off. I’m moving forward—fully free.”

7. Delivered People Carry Destiny

God didn’t just pull them out. He pulled them into purpose.

“You will be My treasured possession… a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” —Exodus 19:5–6

You’re not just delivered to exist. You’re delivered to become.

You carry His glory now. You walk in His authority now. You belong to Him.

Final Word

If you're ready to walk in it—not just momentary relief, but real, lasting freedom—I'm ready to pray with you. Submit your prayer request here. Let’s go after it together.

Because crumbs aren’t enough.

Deliverance is your bread.

Prayer

Lord, You are the only true and living God. We worship You.

Thank You for deliverance. Thank You for freedom in our minds. Thank You for freedom in our bodies. Thank You that we have the privilege and power to walk in freedom every single day.

Lord, for the person reading this who wants to be free—meet them where they are, just like You did for me. Hold them close, even now.

Holy God, reveal Yourself to them in a new way.

Silence the voice of the enemy. I speak by faith: You will no longer walk in what God has already freed you from.

Rise up, and walk in the authority you’ve inherited through Jesus Christ.

Satan, the Lord rebuke you. We break every chain of anxiety, fear, shame, and doubt. We release healing, wholeness, and restored identity in the name of Jesus.

Let this moment be more than just a breakthrough—Let it be a beginning.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Talk to you next week friend!
